I’ve got mixed emotions after attending last week’s NAHBS in Indianapolis. One emotion is that of carnal want. The bike wood I sported after seeing and touching a Vanilla ‘cross bike. The utter retro-coolness that made me lust for a JP Weigle randoneé fendered sled. And yes, the desire to swing my leg over a 650b wheeled Eriksen mountain bike and bomb down a fire road. However, I also experienced that feeing of needing to save money. These bikes are not cheap. Maybe it’s the economy, maybe I just like to get a new bike every year or two then flip my current ride. I don’t know. I guess I’m living on a “fixed” income in that regard. The last, entirely pleasurable, emotion I experience was one of amusement, snarkiness, and smugness as I watched the dentists, hipsters, and bearded ones drool their way up and down the isles. I am, you know, unclassifiable and above it all… Anyway, here are some random, left over photos from the show.
