Raced the Kenda Kwickers in Bloomington last weekend. I was not confident in the worn Tufo's. The Kwickers are very grabby when cornering and no slip on grinder uphills. They don't shed mud very well though.

Contrast is everything. I am now trying a pair of 700x35 Kenda Kwickers. They have a much more aggressive tread pattern. Did a wet cx ride last night with minimal slippage - even on slow, grinder uphills. An added sense of cornering stability too.

HR - Interesting. Perhaps the cx and mtb tread are constructed differently. Also, I weigh 61 kilos (about 131lbs) and road them at 30 to 35 psi.
