This Sunday is the Tour of Flanders.
Let’s play Beat the Bookie, put on your swami lid and pick the winner of this years race that is not named Tom Boonen & you will be rewarded with a coveted Two Johns prize.
There is only one of these prizes, there may be multiple people selecting the winning rider, include the podium & the climb where the rider will make it happen to help your chances of making the cut.

Belgian David here. After visiting the paddock, I have made the following deductions: stijn devolder, haussler, Hammond. Check out some awesome cervelo team tactics. My hangover and I are going fir a nap, we’ll see you later.

Erm… I also picked devolder! And got 2nd place right too! 2 out of three boys, that is how you call a bike race. Massive victory sip being taken as I type. Two johns – why no love for belgian David?

Upon further review, it is Belgian David! He wins the very special prize for picking Devolder & Haussler 1 & 2- nice work! He came out of nowhere, everyone had thought he left it too late & he had too much dancing & drinking at the discotec the previous night! Let’s hope he passes doping control & nobody slipped anything into his many drinks the night before.
There were concerns his entry may have been after the betting windows closed, but close look at the tape showed that this was not the case. The other two the picked Stijn, better luck next time, it would have taken picking the top three to beat the man on the scene, British David. In the past 3 days i’ve downed a bottle of peptobismal, had my own body weight in alka seltza, tasted 32 different Belgian beers, cycled 400km, eaten 6 bags of ‘friten’ with 6 massive dollops of Mayo, had an epic case of dehydration, washed once, had 13 gels, 4 clif bars and 16 waffles, listened to techno till 4 am and generally acted the idiot.
I think I could run a velosport vacation with the help of pedalhard.com based on this experience.

If the trip includes a trip to Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren, then count me in. I think a Spring cobbles trip would be perfect. Send pix of you riding up the Muur.
