The Two Johns are arguably diminutive & comfortable in the latest podcast.  We are secure in the fact that smallness can hold largeness concurrently as we give an epilogue to the North American Handbuilt Bike Show in this latest podcast.  We are motivated to talk about the upcoming Paris-Nice, recognize some of the events our US slanted attention kept us from covering (not the least being Moncoutie’s storming up Mt. Faron!) & the kick off to the Belgian race season.  In local news we give our NAHBS impressions & best of show, and discuss the next time the pedals will be turned in anger.  Listener feedback has some new guidelines, huge amounts require selection committee:  this week its the top 20 that get read to do battle for the ultimate prize, a pair of special Slipstreams by Defeet.  This week, G gets thanked & taken to task for his Lucky Charms Leprechaun impression, Alva talks gynaecologist turned training guru, picking up the ladies at Whole Foods & stretching the chain, what’s a good stem length?  should I upgrade my groupo much more!

Hey Guys, I just listened to the pocast, and it was great. Unfortunately, the story of seeing the R8 with a bike rack was not made up. My wife and kids were with me as I was filling up our very stylish Routan minivan. My wife was extremely upset that I was shaking my head, stomping my feet, and very loudly making it known that the guy was an idiot. She confiscated my phone so I would not walk over and take a picture. If needed, I can have my 5 year-old daughter vouch for the validity of the story….or I can go to the gas station and photograph the tire marks the guy left after storming off. Also, lest you think I was just trying to kiss up to John G…..I do in fact have a white sportwagen TDI of my own, and I love it.

I like the “top 20″ idea of e-mails. Keeps the podcast manageable now that you are becoming more popular. You shouldn’t feel obligated to broadcast all e-mails. It is your podcast after all…

Great job, guys! Enjoy the podcast immensely.

So ze guy puts a bike on his R8 and likes to mash ze pedal in his borderline supercar at ze petrol station… Who cares. Its his car, his bike, his drivers license. And you, stomping around ze petrol station… I’d say some people (I have a guess on at least one person based on your post) may have thought you looked ze idiot, no? Alors, I know a guy who has worked out stuffing a bike in his 993. Is that any worse? Or is it better? I say, good for them. At least their not driving around in a minivan designed by Chrysler, or a ‘German’ wagen made in Mexico…..

It is true, by wearing a jersey with the schools emblem on it, you will certainly avoid harasment from the fans of that school. You just need to make sure your wear the one with the most obnoxious fans in the state. Fortunately for me, I went to that school. Go Dawgs!
