The Rudy Attachment

Rudy Project makes some fine glasses & helmets, they really are top notch. There must be a lot of thought that goes into their design for high performance & function. I have noticed a trend: a Rudy helemt just isn’t a Rudy helmet until it has something attachable/detachable.
For instance the Rudy Stratosphere. It comes with a rear visor that is made from the same sort of nerf material as the helmet itself. The function, I figure, is it keeps the back of the neck from getting burned on mid summer rides & looks cool to boot. Earlier iterations of this helmet had the option to snap it on the front as well.

TT helmets are some of the most technical and test labbed lids around- so of course they offer even more opportunities for attachements. The SytonSuperComp has those nifty ear covers, vents plugs & eye shield.

This looks like a fairly straight forward helmet right? Yes, it is & more!

When turned over, revealed is a nicely flush slot right above the brow that is designed to accept a face shield not too dissimilar to that of the SytonSuperComp shown above . For those who don’t want to be bothered with the hassle of glasses, the face shield may be a solution. I wish I still had the instructions that came with this helmet showing its use in diagram.

Last but not least are a pair of goggles. I couldn’t find the Rudy attachment trend in the eye wear so much as the helmets, but these goggles have a removable beak protector. It has admirably shielded my beak from the elements on occasion. It is a foam lined plastic shell with slots- and very functional!

Top notch design does not begin to describe the Rudy Stratosphere.
You can put that visor thingy on upside down as sort of a bike messenger catchers hat. Or flip it up as sort of a rally cap that tells the peleton you have fresh legs and are going to be making a move out of the pack soon.
John, I think you should also wear the stratosphere around the house for safety on accidental falls down the stairs, or tumbles off the toilet.
I hope you also wear it to the coffee shop, grocery mart and while driving. You will feel safe. When you see a friend, you can head butt them without the residual headache.
And, although the visor snaps off, please never remove it. You look the most stylin’ and top notch with the visor on.
Go Nerf. Go Safe. Go Rudy style.
“& looks cool to boot”
Is that supposed to be funny strange or ha-ha?
I want a picture with you wearing that thing. Holy foam headgear Batman! Oh yeah, please put the Scott goggles on with it.
Wow, do you have a Rudy P shrine down in the man cave?
…And you should of been rockin’ the googles w/ nose piece on in Utah, isn’t snowboarding all about fashion anyway?
What do you call a snowboarder without a girlfriend?
Homeless!
Rudy helmets are one of the few brands accepted by ‘The Official Rules of the Euro Cyclist’. I wonder whether they’d accept that foam thing? snobs… I ride with a peaked MTB helmet because it’s all I got…
“Performance Bionic Wings” That’s freaking AWESOME… I wonder if you extend them outwards if they will start flapping and give you even a little more speed…
Is that Roethlisberger’s motorcycle helmet?…sorry, I had to.
As for Rudy overall, they might have a greater obsession with accessories than my ex-girlfriend, but you can’t beat their service or range of products.
