Standard Podcast: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (264)Here’s the line up. Pick out the one that most resembles the face you saw on that afternoon in California, John. You know, the one that race faced you about 25 years ago. The cold case has been re-opened and the perp will be apprehended, stay tuned. But until then, you can listen to the newest podcast. In this post Gun Club Cross Race podcast we discuss- what else- the Gun Club Cross Race! Oh, and some international news, with a China Todd interview about bikes in China, and once again more listener feedback than ever- the cherry on top is a potential love story over two wheels & a long chain??!!?? We chase it all down with a little technology, Christmas comes early.

Inside sources suggest that it was AJ Kennedy who race faced John.
From the jerseys, helmets, etc., that photo is likely 1987, not sure if that makes much difference. Riders from the junior squad that I can remember were Willerton, Larsen, and Price.
Jager Bomb Bidons, that’s where it’s at.
I have heard recumbent devotees refer to standard diamond framed bikes as “wedgies”. Is that the term that you were trying to remember in the podcast?
The number was “5280″ and it’s a “what’s going on in Denver” magazine.
I couldn’t agree more, a recumbent IS a dealbreaker. Funny that a female was riding one, I thought they were only for middle aged male mechanics and engineers.
I have actually seen something way dorkier than a recumbent out on the loveland bike trail. If I can, I will get a photo of it. It is kinda like the bibs over shirt guy, very elusive.
John K, please learn the difference between a bushing and a bearing. John G, the Red Powerdome is steel not aluminum. I thought you both claimed to have some mechanical knowledge…
Seems you guys hit a nerve with the author of the Bicyclism Blog (http://blog.bicyclism.net/?p=249) on your anti-Fred stance.
Hey – Another good podcast til you guys started bagging on my Serotta.. Whats the deal? I worked hard for my Serotta custom steel frame and built it up myself into a sweet 18.5 lb steel machine, and now I’m lumped into the Madone riding dentist class? That stinks.
Soul- Serotta does build some superior steel frames (even their Aluminum one was a very good value)- my comments are regarding the more complicated models. I am sure those ride great, but their simplicity & elegance are gone- gosh!
Coda- what is your narrow interpretation of a bearing?
JK in NC
You got it JK — I rode the LiveStrong challenge here in Austin with my club recently and I couldn’t believe all the old “heavy” riders on the high end stuff; Madone, Pinnarello Prince (saw one on Campy deep section carbons with full record), Guru, De Rosa, Seven, Parlee, et al. Have a good week —
