MP3 podcast: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (363)What have we done- I mean what has John G. done? This mutated beast was submitted by an astute listener- this half cross/half time trial rig was spotted near Bigfoot’s campsite. These are known to be highly elusive and potentially dangerous, approach with caution if you encounter such a vehicle.
In this post Interbike podcast the Two Johns recap the Squadra Azzrurri domination in Varese, Cross Vegas, Interbike and the usual quality listener feedback from the likes of a refined Brit named ‘Grey*******’, a very emotional message about a bike possibly crying, what WAS Greg doing?, and a mail bag full of other good questions, answers and comments. As usual the listener feedback of the week is rewarded with a pair or two of Defeet Slipstreams & socks.

That’s nothing. At the shop I work in, a guy brought in a Cannondale Bad Boy urban hybrid (with a HUB gear) that was hooked up with areo bars and saddle.

I put drop bars on a mountain bike once just to be contrary. We called it “Frankenbike”. It sucked.

OVCX #1 Sandbaggers – I was there and understand they weren’t allowed to race in the Cat 3 race because they had 1-day licenses.

you mentioned DT rims.. I had a pair built for my Serotta last year, DT 1.1 Rims on D/A hubs with DT dbl butted champion spokes, 3X rear and 2X front. They are sweet! Honestly I opted for DTs over Open Pros cause everybody has open pros… and the extruded DT hoops are welded rather than pinned, a little lighter, and less $$. The guys at my LBS say they are “the bomb”.

I’m bitter….and I was also hammered when I wrote that email. Interbike is a misnomer, it should be called Bikes and Booze…my head still hurts.
