Arrived at the Tour of Missouri yesterday. I am the “Competition Coordinator” for the event. I handle the logistics for the teams and assist Kevin Livingston. Lots of help goes to the Euro teams who don’t have the infrastructure of the domestics. Cars, racks, rooms, trucks, hoses, bottles, soap, interfacing with the UCI, meals, and on it goes… It’s a cool job that allows me to work with all the teams on the race to make their experiences go well. This should be an awesome race. There are some real hardmen teams. The Rabobank squad is made up of U-23’s. The look lean and hungry to do some damage.
The media department issued a few Flip Cameras to staff. We have free reign to shoot whatever we want and, you know me, I will provide lots of content. Here’s something I shot yesterday at a press event in St. Joseph with the Sparkasse team. You can go to www.tourofmissourifanzone.com to see much more.

I think (hope) a week at a big tour event will help with your end of season ennui. Nothing reinvigorates the blood like some great racing and hot podium girls. Wish yesterdays stage of the Vuelta was televised. Love to watch Ballan and the cold, rain, fog and the mountains. Also, saw the Brits are pissed that the Rock Racing ‘dope peddlers’ are at the Tour of Britain ( http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/sport/Beware-of-the-dope-pedaller.4466515.jp). Tyler should have stayed home and done Missouri, I guess. Have fun this week.

Yeah, the ’stache is back!!
…and sometime today, JK is gonna jump up and down on learning his “boy” Moncoutie won today’s stage at the Vuelta!

Dude, with that Fu Man Stache you can get one of those raccoon hats and a musket and take the Sparkasse team to Cracker Barrel for a real American experience.

What’s up with the fuzz on your face bro? I thought you were from Ohio not Alaska? You did’nt have that on your face this summer during your solo win did you? John, sorry bud, some people can pull it off but that’s not you!

If you watch carefully at the line, you can read Moncoutie’s lips: “This is for you, John The Abstainer”.
John (ladies man), sweet stash bro.

Haha in the staff processing video you ask how much the guy makes.
Anyway we need some rider interviews. Do you think you could get Tom Danielson to talk to you? He has had a rough year and is trying to make a comeback. Also he has his own line of coffee.

JG, what’s the word on the street concerning the future of the Tour of Georgia? Cyclingnews reports it is in doubt.
September 7th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
JG is giving the Garmin boys a run for their money in the facial hair department. Thanks for the vids. Hopefully the weather will hold here in KC so the guys (and crowds)won’t get too wet.
I’ll look forward to the Moncoutie comments from JK in the next podcast.

Yeah, the georgia front does not look too good at this point.

Are you serious…Tommy D has a coffee line? I wonder if any other pro cyclist has a line of coffee. Oh yeah….90% of them do.
By the way, I heard that Tour of Georgia was being offered to other lesser promoters….some of them haven’t even put a successful race together (tour of america guys), so the prospect doesn’t look good. Too bad because it is a great time slot in the year and has what I think is the best racing in the United States.

We were both wrong, THE grand tour of the year is clearly the Vuelta based on the last two stages.

Grow the chops and add a mole or two and we could call you “Lemmy.”

Whoa what other pro cyclists have their own coffee lines?
