9 days of racing and training in Arizona, late night plane travel, then a race the morning after I returned all conspired against me. I am sick. Sinus infection plus walking pneumonia. Oh well, looks like a few weeks of rest for me.The good news is that Mrs. John G. is a good woman. She takes care of me. She listens to me complain about how lousy I feel. She buys me frozen pizza. She is sympathetic. She lets me sleep in. She is a good woman. She even washes bikes! Check out the technique. I thinks she is ready for the CX pits.

my new wheels. Do not cast thine eyes upon them with wanton lust, but rejoice in my good fortune, for that they were bestowed upon me after the great battle that was the Tour of Langkawi. Strong are they, for they survived that crash-ridden race and came to pass through customs to me. My delight is in their lightness, because they weigheth only 1700 grams, but still hath a PowerTap hub.

Ok. I’ve received this enough times from many different friends. I figure it is time to post it for your viewing. Pay attention…
Like a good dog, the podcast comes home after 2 weeks away. We talk about some International stuff, local racing, and go through 14 emails which include various and sundry topics like: a Special Relationship with our British cycling brethren, a lonely Ohio bike racer looking for his cycling soulmate, roller derby-style blocking in a Georgia bike race, the symptoms of over training, how to find citizen bike races, brake routing solutions for cx bikes, the www.dicklanevelodrome.com in Atlanta, buying used vs. new bikes, data for our study, don’t let levi ride.com and rumors about Johan, license plates, why or why not race - a list, selecting a nanny, shaving, and numb feet. Both Johns are a little cranky, tired, and sick. That makes for great podcast.

The Desert Dog surveys his dog domain.
Thanks, as always, goes to to DeFeet for their contribution to the Listener Feedback of the Week award.
