Amazingly beautiful bikes at the NAHBS! Hope everyone enjoys this very small offering of pix – there are really too many bikes to take pictures of in one weekend.

Unfortunately, HH doesn’t make it to the show – never has as far as I know – must be too busy re-gluing Vitus frames.

Pictured above are the LandShark-built Huffy that Andy Hampstein road to victory over Gavia pass, a bamboo and horn (and who knows what else) creation by Calfee (also won the tandem award for a bamboo tandem), an assortment of beautiful Pegorettis, a $16K titanium couch, the story behind DeSalvo’s award-winning 29r (that thing was huge!), and Ahearne’s award-winning town bike (the orange one).

Also pictured is an orange (Molteni-esque) Pegoretti rumored to have been built for musician Ben Harper, some shots of the new Vanilla Workshop Speedvagen project including the 2008 Road Racing Prototype (15 to be built in 2008 – http://www.vanillabicycles.com), a Renovo hardwood bicycle (hanging from scale), some LandShark weirdness (check out the seat stays), a Townsend track bicycle, and a cool display of downtube repair cut-outs.

Wow!! Great pics. I especially love the Bamboo bike with the horns for handle bars. This bike belongs in an art gallery! Thanks for sharing

Talking about Pegoretti, I haven’t seen any press on his condition. I always have liked the simplicity of his frames and the complexity of the paint.

On another subject- JK, would you contact me about architecture? Thanks

I don’t have much to report on how Dario is doing, but they announced that he was finished with his chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma and he appeared to be in good health at the show.
